Second long board

I know I haven't been keeping up with my process journal, but I have had a lot going on in the past couple of months.  I talked to Mrs. Mastin to see if I should have really built a second long board and she said yes, so then last week I bought 9 plys of sand plywood to start on my second board.  I drew out the design but this time i didn't free hand it.  I made a templet out of poster board with a straight edge for the sides and a plastic cup for the round head and tail.  Once I drew it out on the board it came out perfectly.  Then the next day I called my mentor to see if he could help me cut it out this time because last time i didn't have the proper tools and it didn't come out right.  Once we cut it out my mentor and I spent 30 minutes trying to draw the truck holes, which need to be perfectly lined up and perfectly far apart, and we got them perfect.  Now im painting the bottom of the board and I think im going to have it done by the end of this week.

Fall Break

I've been working on my personal project a lot over this fall break.  I've gotten A LOT  done.  I chose my mentor, bought all the supplies I need, put my wood ply's together, designed the shape of my board, and cut it out.  I drilled the truck holes for my board but they were to far apart to put the trucks in so i have to re-drill.  I also found out that my wheel cut outs weren't big enough so now i have to cut those out bigger.  I've also decided that this is only going to be a prototype board.  I'm think I might actually make two or maybe even three more boards.

Mentor meeting

I am meeting with my mentor today.  He is Mr. Greer and i'm really looking forward to working with him.  We will be discussing the whole process of making the longboard and how to make the press.

The Beginning

My names Emerson Miller and I am a sophomore at SMMHS.  So we have this personal project thing that we have to do throughout our sophomore year.  It's supposed to be something we love to do, so we don't get bored with the project.  I decided to make a longboard because I love to longboard, and I have always wanted to build one.
